The Carl Bonnell Era Begins!

Ten days ago, the Huskies were in Los Angeles, two seconds and 20 yards short of a massive road upset of the USC Trojans and an all-but-assured Top 25 ranking. Now, coming off a bleak home loss to Oregon State that resulted in starting quarterback Isaiah Stanback bowing out for the season with a midfoot sprain, six wins and a bowl game is starting to look like the major victory everyone thought it would be at the beginning of the year—when the Huskies were supposed to suck. Just goes to show how elusive top-notch success is in sports. Either way, even a mere five wins at season's end should provide evidence that Coach Ty Willingham's squad has made great strides in his second year. But it'll come down to the Apple Cup, fittingly, to see if this season can truly be declared a return to form for one of the 20th century's most consistently stellar college football programs.
