Georgetown Needs Better Bus Service

Categories: Transportation
I love Georgetown. I love Smarty Pants. I love All City Coffee. I love Uncle Mo's. I love the postage stamp houses. I love the landing airplanes that threaten to give you a buzz cut as you ponder purchasing a motorscooter, a slice of pizza, or a piece of art. I love that Georgetown hasn't become, as threatened, Capitol Hill Southwest. And maybe one of the reasons Georgetown hasn't become Capitol Hill Southwest is that Airport Way is serviced fairly crappily by the Metro bus system. Route 131 only features once per hour trips from the neighborhood's main drag to downtown; it'd be nice if that frequency doubled or tripled. In the interim, can anyone tell me whether there's a better northbound bus route to walk to -- perhaps on Marginal or 4th -- that I'm currently oblivious to?
