Slow day at the MOG?

Last summer, our then-arts editor Lynn Jacobson made this hilarious blog post, after learning that Seattle Art Museum had changed the name of the SAM Rental/Sales Gallery to SAM Gallery: Art Sales and Rental. For crying out loud! Well it looks like someone has taken her advice on how to increase the clarity of their mission:

We've just been notified that Tacoma's Museum of Glass is now simply called the "Museum of Glass." Um, what? Did anyone ever call it anything else? Apparently, media who had the column inches once also tacked on "International Center for Contemporary Art," but we sure weren't among that bunch.

Also, "When abbreviating the Museum's name, our preference is to use 'Museum.' However, if an acronym is warranted, please use MOG (in all capital letters)." Instead of MOGICFCA? I know this is procedure and I'm wrong to be personally insulted, but hey!

In summary, I'd like to change my initial reaction of WTF to WTFC. Please refer to that phrase from now on. Thank you!
