Ferries Ban the Weekly

Looking for the Weekly on your cruise home to Bremerton? Well, you're shit out of luck: the beleaguered agency responsible for operating Puget Sound's decrepit ferry fleet has decided that our cover depicting Johnny Depp preparing to give Santa a much-needed shave is unsuitable for public display. Rumor has it that WSF maintenance crews are instead going to use their allotted quota of hard copies to plug holes in leaky hulls. Santa's pretty pissed about the whole thing, accusing WSF of being prejudiced against the utilitarian value of razors, and some irate regulars have threatened a boycott of overpriced Red Hook at ferry snack bars from Vashon to Victoria. The children of ferry staffers have also been added to Santa's "naughty" list, and will therefore receive lumps of coal for Christmas.

My boyfriend is in prison and is unable to get the proper medication or a doctor\'s visit even though he has AIDS. His letter follows:
December 19, 2007
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Judestin A. Arcasa. I\'m here at the Federal Detention Center in Seattle Wa. I\'ve been here since 10/11/07. Unfortunately I\'m still in pretrial.
I was diagnosed with HIV in 1984. Unfortunately I now have full blown Aids as of this year. Now that I may face a 15 year to life sentence from the Government, I\'m asking for any help and assistance you may be able to provide, so that I may not have to spend the remaining years that I do have to live in prison.
The support that I seek is from people who understand the needs of those who face addictions and suffering from aids. The FDC-SEATAC medical staff is able to provide basic medication, however, my needs go beyond that as I also have literacy problems and other issues related to my addictions and diseasethat they are not able to meet while I am in my pretrial phase of this process. In the pretrial part of my incarceration there is no help from the FDC staff available to me until I am sentenced or designated. My literacy, education, addiction counceling, and medical as well as legal issues are only available in the form of legal counsel provided by the public defenders agency. All other support is unavailable to me during the pretrial phase. this is due to the policies and regulations of the FDC as they apply to unsentenced and ungeignated prisoners. I need resources and organizations who can come into the court and the FDC Facility that can help co-ordinate treatment programs and options, because this portion of my incarceration may last months or years before sentence is passed and my need are much more immediate due to my disease and my rapidly deteriorating condition. I am a Native American and a Christian and I need the support or services of someone to help during this time in my life from any organization that handles people facing these types of issues.
Please make me aware of any resources that may be available or put me in contact with anyone that can help me since I\'m limited with who I can call and write to while I seek this outside assistance while housed at FDC-SEATAC. Any available advocate who can meet with me to discuss my issues or can write to me for support would be much appreciated. I am sincerely and desperately needing your help.

Your boyfriend should feel lucky that he is getting FREE medical care that us law abiding, tax paying citizens are paying for. If he wanted more than that maybe he should have thought about that before he committed whatever crime he committed.
