David Tabb: I Am Not A Crook (Anymore)
A little over a month ago we reported on auto warranty solicitations that were causing headaches for local dealers who say the offers for extended warranties are a scam. David Tabb, head of Auto One Warranty of California, one of the companies sending solicitations, was previously in trouble for his role in a Hollywood and sports memorabilia scam. He sold undercover FBI agents forged merchandise during the Bureau's sting known as Operation Bullpen. Auto One has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau.
Calls to Tabb's office and attorney were not returned prior to the story, but today he called to say he's turned his life around since Operation Bullpen and runs an entirely legitimate business. "We work our butt off here," he says.
He added that he is appealing the BBB rating and is happy to make sure any dissatisfied customers receive full refunds. He suggested that rather than calling the 800 or 888 number on the Web site, call the company directly at (949) 475-9500.

haha he probably is a crook but one things for sure he is a CREEP..he has cameras all around the office ( i used to work there) and would zoom in on my chair and my girlfriends chair and watch us on the screen in his office..he also offered my friend money to pay "visits" to him in his office daily...he is by far the biggest loser ever and he smells like cheese.

Well peeps, you will be able to see Dave Tabb on TV on Monday. KTLA is doing an investigative report on "robo-calling" and they went right in front of Dave Tabb's operation in Irvine. They actually got him in the parking lot!!! If you are in the LA area, watch for the report!

As a former employee, I can tell you that he screwed his employees as badly as he did customers. He didn't pay claims, refunds, or commissions. He would double and triple charge employees for cancelled deals. He used to page over the intercom that happy hour was on and that all women in the office were to come to his office for a "bonus". He's paid off dozens of girls that worked at the office to make them go away quietly! He's a total scum. I don't know why his wife puts up with him.

What a nightmare organization! As an automotive service technician I know a thing about the auto warranty industry. So when my girlfriend came to me one morning and told me she'd signed up with Auto One the previous evening I contacted them for a rundown on what she'd purchased.
Very few of these extended auto warranties are really worth having. In almost all cases the parts that fail are not covered by these policies. In all fairness some do actually cover some of the big expensive parts that very rarely fail. At least once a week there's a customer in my shop on his/her cell phone screaming at their auto warranty company. They say things like “What does it #&^% cover?”.
Back to Auto One, Auto One is simply a telemarketing firm and does not provide anything, they simply market existing low quality “policies” at exorbitant prices. Kinda like Ronco by phone...

this guy... and his business... man o man...is it scandalous? yes. just like people have mentioned before... he screws over consumers as well as his own employees... if he feels that an employee is a threat he gets rid of em. i have certain documentation.. that proves he even creates fake customers so he can get paid by these insurance companies. FAKE ACCOUNTS!!!! fake names, fictitious address... its all a game... he doesnt get paid until customer usually makes the 3rd financed payment... and the rest of whatever is left over.. he gets paid later by the 7th or 8th payment depending on how much they put down, and how long they financed their policy for. he hires escorts, and hookers as receptionists soo that he can pay them under the table whenever he is horny. this guy had to refinance his own house to keep afloat... when the time is right... I WILL FILE SOME STUFF WITH THE STATE ATTORNEY. I know all of his finance companies.. and how he screws them over as well (with fake names, addresses) basically fake deals. In due time... he will get what he started on his own... he is a lil weird has cameras all over the office -probably scared that someone might come after him. this guy has cameras all over his house as well... hiring ex convicts n screwing them over... is not the brightest idea.. cuz soon they will have his address... n what do u know... he'll definatly need those cameras at his home to cover his ass. he had another scam selling healthcare to old people.. stealing their monies as well... i guess eventually he lost money in that also so he shut that down.. he also sold direct tv.. but because of crappy management he lost money in that also... maybe if he woke up one day and said to himself... lets get some good educated people under me.. things might change.. but... with a guy like this and with business habits like his he'll learn the hard way.. he couldnt even get his payroll done right cuz his HR person is not organized instead she points fingers at people beneath her. ive seen soo many well educated people leave n get fired.. because they dont know how to do dirty work, or just dont want to do the dirty work... something big is coming to him... oh yeah... this guy try to make me sign some bs that im not going to use anything against him... HAH... thought i was stupid.. didnt sign shit..

I got one and when my computer sensors went out it was covered 100%. u smucks crack me up.and u even got a guy who claims to be a former agent there. he probably mad cuz he couldn't sale anything and got fired..lol. get over it dude. and for the record lets see this document he tried to make u sign. cuz in court ur words won't hold 2 inches of water. just get a life if u guys don't like warrantys don't buy them. but auto ones not the crooks the dealerships r. they set the labor rates. and they hate warrantys because they can't scam the insurance companys like they can. u people..!! so don't comment show facts. let me see someone who bankrupt from buying a warranty..lol
