The Ugly American?

The latest brouhaha making the rounds of the conservative blogosphere concerns presidential hopeful Barack Obama's gauche use of campaign signs around the Western (aka Wailing) Wall in Jerusalem; the holiest site in Judaism.

The standard saw now is whether Obama, during his magical mystery world tour, will be tacking banners up on St. Peter's Basilica or handing out campaign buttons at the Kaaba.

At least he hasn't gone all Jimmy Carter - yet - by kissing the head of the Church of England on the lips.
