A Taker for Elections Director!

Jason Osgood, who lost 58-42 in his bid to unseat Sam Reed for secretary of state, has jumped into the race for King County Elections Director. So far he's the only one— though there's talk that State Sen. Pam Roach, R-Auburn, may also be considering it. Chris Clifford, who's heading up the recall effort against Port Commissioner Pat Davis, has also expressed interest in the position. The post became elected and not appointed anymore when voters approved an amendment to the King County Charter earlier this month. The person will be chosen during a special election held in February. Deadline to file to run is Dec. 12. Makes sense that Osgood would be interested. His platform for secretary of state was focused on election reform.
Says Osgood:
"The Director of Elections must be fair, impartial, and utterly committed to transparency and accountability. My highest priority as Director of Elections will be to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to cast a ballot, and that all votes are counted correctly."
