Facing a $93 million deficit next year, one of the cost-saving measures under considerations is the County Fair, a much smaller 4-H fest than the enormous Puyallup version. The county gave the fair a $318,000 subsidy last year. But rather than taking an up or down vote on sustaining it, three council members--Republicans Reagan Dunn and Pete von Reichbauer and Democrat Larry Phillips--want to create a 10 person task force to explore options for keeping the barrel races going.
