Apparently, Greg Nickels Is Not Seattle's Top Dog

That honor goes to the Labrador Retriever, according to the American Kennel Club. The club says the ten most popular dog breeds in Seattle are as follows:

1. Labrador Retriever
2. Golden Retriever
3. German Shepherd Dog
4. Poodle
5. Pug
6. Dachshund
7. Bulldog
8. Pomeranian (tied for #7)
9. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
10. Yorkshire Terrier (tied for #9)

While noting that the German Shepherd rose from 7th to 3rd on the list, AKC spokesperson Lisa Peterson said in a statement that "Seattle residents favor the portable, apartment-friendly breeds such as the Pomeranian, Pug, and Dachshund."
