The P-I: Another Week

P-I Publisher Roger Oglesby says the looming closure of his newspaper will loom into next week, reports Dan Richman on the P-I website. "Hearst expects to announce a decision regarding the P-I at some point next week," Oglesby says, finally providing his staff with an indication of when the paper's fate could be revealed, though not indicating what that fate might be. "That's all I'm going to be able to say," he added. Staffers have already begun carting out belongings and preparing to shred papers and documents in anticipation of a closure of the print edition, the loss of most their jobs, and the likely launch of a revamped eP-I.
