Boeing and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week
If our region's biggest employer wants to move anywhere after this week, it's probably Australia:![]()
-The long-awaited Dreamliner remains long-awaited, long after we weren't supposed to be awaiting it any longer. As a result, a disappointed airline canceled a $3 billion order. But that's not all.
-Boeing also lost some of daddy's warbucks, as the Pentagon stuck to its guns in shooting down several defense projects.
-Boeing-funded start-up Sea Launch went belly-up, leaving the Lazy B on the hook for half-a-billion. That's more than anything the Governor's Boeing panel could make up for.
-And finally, for good measure, Boeing stock got downgraded.
Also, today the company woke up to find gum in its hair.
