Light Rail's First Fatality

​And it sounds like a suicide. At about 1:15 AM, a guy identified only as an adult male hopped a fence near the SODO station--an area off-limit to pedestrians--and jumped in front of the train. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Of course, to be precise, this is the first death from someone being hit by a light rail train; in 2007, a mechanic died in a supply train accident in the Beacon Hill Tunnel.
