Boeing Lowers the Boom
The Dreamliner may eventually get its day in the sky, but 500 Boeing employees will definitely get a pink slip, the company announced today. 200 of the layoffs are in the commercial airplane division, and some of those in Puget Sound. ![]()
What's more, these won't be the last. Writes the P-I's Aubrey Cohen:
The cuts are part of the 10,000 company-wide, including 4,500 in commercial airplanes, that the company announced plans for early this year.
"Its an ongoing process," [Boeing spokesperson Tim] Healy said. "It's not over."
Yikes.
