Don't Bite Your Nails Too Much, It May Be a While Before We Know On Mayor's Race

Less than 1,000 votes separate third place incumbent Greg Nickels from current leader Mike McGinn in the mayor's race. This of course, has everyone on pins and needles. Last night, Nickels spokesperson Sandeep Kaushik said they have polls showing later voters will break their way, but that remains to be seen and if it will be enough. He'll have to wait to find out if that's the case, the next set of results from King County Elections won't be posted until 4:30 this afternoon.

And in the meantime, it's always possible votes cast will have trouble with signatures or other hitches, which means that if it stays close, this could stretch out awhile. You can confirm that your ballot was received and the signature checked out on the Elections Web site.
