Lehman Neil Delavergne Wanted for Shooting Man With Crossbow
UPDATE: Delavergne tells cops he only wanted to scare the man. Details after the jump.
KOMO Lehman Neil Delavergne may not be the ideal companion for your next hunting trip.
Lehman Neil Delavergne apparently had a beef with another man in Pe Ell, Washington. But rather than using a typical weapon, investigators say Delavergne got creative in his choice of sharp implements.
The 33-year-old Delavergne is accused of hiding outside of the man's house then shooting him with a crossbow. Investigators say Delavergne also stabbed the man in the torso.
The 26-year-old victim is in the hospital in stable condition. Delavergne, meanwhile, is still on the loose. Possibly hiding out at a friend's house, says the Sheriff, and almost certainly trying to find a plausible alibi for why he mistook another human being for a twelve-point buck.
UPDATE: According to Delavergne's wife, she and her husband were having problems at hom. Delavergne almost killed the 62-year-old victim, she says, because he was mad at him for housing his estranged wife.
Delavergne, unsurprisingly, has a long record, including convictions for drug possession, burglary and assault. How could he could confuse putting a scare into someone with stabbing them multiple times in the chest? Delavergne's grandfather says it comes down to one word: drugs.
