Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Fly on December 18th

• Congrats Boeing, Miss ZA001(787) flew 3days earlier than what you have predicted. It went well as for the latest news there will be a second flight for ZA001 within this week, and the Maiden Flight for ZA002 in December 22.

• It looks like the 787 will advance the quality of the air-travel expericence. Let's hope Obama doesn't try to mess with Boeing or Boeing will wind up in the business of making plastic model airplanes for kids in China.

• I agree with Sharon re: the parting out of suppliers. That's what happens when you turn leadership over to bean counters and politicians. Leadership of Boeing should be in the hands of engineers who know how to count beans, but don't let bean counting make the major decisions. Like giving major contracts to foreigners that don't know squat about building a quality airplane.

• Wow...everyone is scared nike, whoever you are. i can't sleep at night.I'm so afraid you will come and kill me. why would you write something like that, furthermore i can't believe i'm even responding, your so stupid. i guess thats what dead 15 yrs. do.

• It will be great to see this plane in the air - at last. I'm a former Boeing employee and wife of retired 30+ year Boeing engineer (including the 787). Boeing made a HUGE error parting the production out to outside companies - France, Japan, Italy. It would have been okay if the design had been done in Everett before going to the foreign partners. I will wait a year or so before volunteering to board a 787 - there are too many bugs yet to be worked out...

• I am a VERY PROUD mother of a son who has helped almost from the get-go to put this plane in the sky. What was turning into a joke will become another ( made in America) AMERICAN achievement that will forever change the production of commerical aircraft production, a marvel that the world will watch in awe and be reminded why America really is, still, the greatest country on earth.

• San Antonio is ready for the arrival of the 787. Bring it on!

• several years ago, Douglas had some problems with their DC-10 & my mother would not fly ANYTHING but Boeing. When she saw the DC-10 at the gate, she refused to board. It took the flight crew to convince her it was safe. My Dad worked for Boeing at the time. She had every passenger in the waiting area scared to death. ONLY when she finally decided to board would everyone else get on. Just goes to show, Boeing builds the best planes. Go BOEING !! Your 787 looks beautiful. Can't wait to fly in one ! !

• I was one of the 50,000 people known as "the incredibles" that launched the 747 from the Everett plant (there are a few of us still around), and I can't wait to see Boeing rub this fantastic new jetliner in the nose of Airbus. I totally agree, fly Boeing or don't fly at all.

• The A380 went on a world tour before its first commercial flight between Singapore and Sydney or Melbourne (?). Can Boeing make a showoff tour in the United States? I'd love to see it in SFO, Oakland (OAK), or San Jose (SJC). All right, way to go Boeing!

• i am proud of the folks that are working on this project. even after delays the project moves forword to meet its goal the people at boeing and their parteners came through. always remember that challange gets wonderful results.keep up the good work.

• I am retired Boeing crane operator last shift worked, July 2006. At that time the 787 was a bunch of styrofoam and stick models that engineers would slide around the floor for 8 hrs. a day. Parts production was given to the 4 points of the compass and normal controls were lost and we have seen the results! THANK GOD they seem to have come to their collective senses and my retirement checks should continue (at least for a few more years).

• I have seen the Boeing Planes lanached from the 707 to 777 am proud to say that I helpe build them . The Boeing airplanes are the safest planes flying to day.

• Godspeed, '87! BTW, whenever we fly, I always look for Boeing planes; NOT airbus. I always tell the capt on entering, "Thanks for flying Boeing"....if I want to fly an inferior plane, I'll move to France!

• I worked at Boeing on this project early on. I wish them all the success in the world. I wish I could go to Everette to see it fly. Go Boeing.
