- Actually, Seattle 911 says that black smoke you saw billowing near the University of Washington campus wasn't a sign that we'd picked a new pontiff. It was actually due to a small hitch at the campus' power plant. Too bad. "Seattle Pope" would be a sweet thing to put on a business card.
This guy probably wouldn't mind a reprieve from stuffy Vatican City.
