Mayoral Advisor Chris Bushnell Resigns
The week-long tenure of mayoral advisor Chris Bushnell is over. On Tuesday, PubliCola broke the news that Bushnell had misrepresented his educational background on business cards and in PowerPoint presentations, falsely claiming he had a Ph.D.
Facebook Bushnell resigned less than two weeks after accepting the job.
Late last night, spokesman Mark Matassa announced that Bushnell had decided to leave the mayor's office. Citing the distraction he'd caused and saying there was "too much focus on him" and not enough on Mayor Mike McGinn.
Bushnell's resignation comes hours after PubliCola revealed more strange happenings with the former $110,000-a-year advisor's background. According to the University of Washington, Bushnell has sealed his academic records from the public. A weird move for a guy working in the public sector.
