Aliese Gatlin's Remedy for a "Cranky" Baby: Formula Spiked With Percocet
It's safe to say that Aliese Gatlin does not hold a degree in pharmacology. Otherwise, the 20-year-old mother from Yelm probably wouldn't have spiked her baby's formula in an effort to help her fall asleep.
A warm, drug-free bottle is usually all it takes.
On October 22, Gatlin called 911 because she couldn't get nine-month-old daughter to wake up. When paramedics arrived they found the baby unconscious and not breathing.
The kid was so zonked out that medics had to put a needle into the infant's bone marrow because her veins had collapsed.
Gatlin initially told investigators that someone else must have drugged the baby. But eventually copped to putting a Percocet in her formula because she was "cranky as hell."
Not exactly a healthy substitute for a warm bottle of milk or a drive around the block. But not surprising coming from a young mom who admits to using meth, coke and heroin.
Gatlin has been charged with three felonies, including distribution of a controlled substance to a minor. She's also not allowed to have any contact with her daughter.
