Jayson Boehm, Public School Bus Driver and "Athletic Helper," Accused of Illicit Touching of Student Athletes
Judging by the state Department of Health's records, Jayson Boehm is a bit of a Renaissance Man. ![]()
Boehm has been removed from the driver's seat.
He was at one time a point person for King County's Emergency Coordination Center. He's listed among the endorsers of Dow Constantine, on the now King County Executive's 2009 campaign website. And he holds four separate licenses, including certifications as massage therapist, emergency medical technician, and nurse's assistant.
But all four have have been suspended pending an investigation into allegations that Boehm, a bus driver and "athletic helper" with the Highline School District fondled some of the student athletes. Members of the Seahawks, and head coach Pete Carroll, were in attendance at one of the athletic events where the abuse allegedly occurred.
It's not clear whether Boehm was ever cleared to work as a medical trainer by the district. But state investigators say that starting in April of 2009, Boehm allegedly began conducting physical examinations of some male and female students. He later falsified documents to make it appear as if they were performed by an actual licensed physicians, investigators allege.
According to DOH documents, Boehm had some of the students strip naked. Twenty-six of them now say that their genitals were fondled during those "examinations."
In March, Boehm worked at a boxing tournament, DOH says. During an examination of one young man who'd suffered a bloody nose, Boehm's examination allegedly moved well south of the site of the injury toward the victim's genitals. Investigators allege that he also injected the victim with an unnamed substance, something his credentials don't qualify him to do.
As it happens, four members of the Seattle Seahawks, as well as Hawks head coach Pete Carroll, attended the boxing match where the incident allegedly occurred. The match was organized by the White Center Police Activities League and featured both young male and female amateur fighters.![]()
From the Seattle Seahawks blog. Coach Carroll and players at the boxing match where abuse allegedly took place.
Tony Rago, organizer of the match, confirmed to the Weekly that the March 27 event is where the incident reported by DOH occurred, but would not comment further.
Reached by phone, a spokesperson for the ECC says that Boehm is no longer a member of its volunteer team. A call to the Highline School District went unreturned. A phone number listed online for Boehm was disconnected.
