How Bellevue Developer Kemper Freeman Spends His Day

Bellevue developer Kemper Freeman is in the news again. On account of his lawsuit to keep light rail off of I-90, and away from the Eastside malls he owns, Freeman finds himself in a familiar position -- that of Seattle Times profile subject.

Freeman gets the front-page treatment every couple of years. So there's hardly anything in Sunday's story that the least literate newshound didn't already know (as in, his hatred of transit wonks is only matched by theirs for him).

An interesting nugget could be found, however, for those willing to make it to the second-to-last paragraph. There, Freeman is quoted as saying he spends 30 percent of his time "community building."

Nevermind that a term that vague could mean anything from writing a big check to the Boys & Girls club to waving howdy to his neighbor. Let's break down how we think Freeman might spend the rest of his day.
