Ann Corbitt, Seduced by Soccer Star Ashley Cole, Resigns From Council Job
After Ann Corbitt, an aide to Councilmember Tom Rasmussen, appeared on the cover of a British tabloid to dish on a fling she'd had with a married soccer player, ya figured the clock was ticking on her time in the public sphere. Yesterday, her time ran out.
Back in February, Corbitt told News of the World all about a weekend tryst with star Ashley Cole, who was in town with his club team Chelsea for a match against the Sounders. According to Corbitt's TMI account, she and Cole had unprotected sex for "three to four hours," and he was a "creative and adventurous lover."
This news didn't go over so well with Cole's wife, Cheryl, who filed for divorce shortly thereafter. It also (just guessing here) probably didn't please her boss either.

Rasmussen would not say whether he asked Corbitt to leave, just that she offered her resignation and he accepted.
