• Dear NW Conservative, You mention the idea of hypocrisy in your post. Your quote, which I include part of below, is what's actually hypocritical about the endeavor of fishing (something I did for years and years before giving it up). Killing quickly or not is still killing; there's nothing humane or necessary about it (I've killed my share of fish and ducks to know). We no longer need this kind of "food" to be healthy and survive on this planet. We kill now, as we often did, simply for a quick, inhumane thrill. Where's the honor or sport in that(particularly when we hook 'em, gaff 'em AND shoot 'em)? None of them go protest at the cattle farms when Ol' Bessie takes a nail to the brain and is hacked to pieces, all so a tasty piece of beef, unrecognizable as the cow from which it came, can sizzle on their barbie and nourish their bodies. I've killed lots of big salmon back when there were many to be charter-boat caught. I let almost none of it go to waste, and we dispatched the fishies as fast as we could. • Why after all that is it so important to fisherman to kill these great fish? Is it really about the sport or is it about catching the last fish?

• Wow Joe, pretty childish. "Oh my God he has an accent! Must be Al Qaeda". Grow up. Awesome fish. But yes I have to agree, would have made a great line of children. But then again, it would have been hard to release such a huge fish on a paid charter.
