Patrick Rojas, Convicted Sex Offender, Sues His Victim's Mother for Blogging Mean Things About Him

It doesn't take long to look through Danielle Schneider's blog and realize that she really doesn't like Patrick Rojas. She has, of course, good reason not to. In 2007 the then-22-year-old pleaded guilty to reduced misdemeanor charges--communication with a minor for immoral purposes--for incidents involving Schneider's 11-year-old daughter. He's free now, and says that her hate blog is keeping him from getting a job. As such, he and his lawyer would like "unspecified damages" to compensate him for his troubles.

Naturally, Schneider is furious. She says she's offered to take the blog down, but Rojas refused to drop the case. She sums it up for KING-5:

"The audacity that the person who abused my child and changed the course of our family and our life was suing us."

Danielle Schneider is a very prolific hate blogger (with good reason).
In fairness, Schneider's 277 blog posts go back to March 2009, and are vitriolic as they come. The posts blast Rojas, his father Eddie, wife Kathy, a host of clergy members at their church, nearly all of their children, and just about anyone else who's ever associated with them. She writes about where they go, what they do, and whatever rumors she hears. She accuses them of other crimes, though her documentation backing up the claims is typically lacking.

At any rate, it's clear that the shaming of Rojas and his clan is something that Schneider is obsessively committed to.

Here's a sample:

Patrick D. Rojas is a convicted level 2 sex offender living in Port Orchard, Washington with his brother Jairus. Patrick has a total of 6 minor victims that we know of (age ranging from 18mo. -11yrs old), he has admitted to sexual acts with dogs, peeping in on women and children in bathrooms, pornography, consensual incest with another adult sibling. He is a danger to all adolescent children and a sexual predator of convenience.

But let's get real.

There's no doubt that having Schneider's blog as the first entry to pop up in a Google search for Patrick Rojas doesn't help with the employment process.

But this man's options became limited the moment he registered as a level-two sex offender. Any job that's OK hiring him with the conviction would probably have to be OK with Schneider's ever-spewing scorn volcano erupting on the Internet. Plenty of jobs offer anonymity. No one Googles a dishwasher at Denny's.

Proving that Schneider wronged him and putting a dollar amount on it will be tricky for Rojas. Washington repealed its libel laws in 2009, so there appears to be no law that she's breaking. A civil case over whether she's financially liable for his employment struggles is what the lawyers will hash out.

But if the Westboro Baptist Church can march with "God Hates Fags" signs at funerals, it stands to reason that a bitter mom can run well-oiled hate blog about a pedophile.
