SeattleCrime: Undercover SPD Officer Got Beat Up by Anarchists
Jonah Spangenthal-Lee at SeattleCrime has a somewhat belated post today about the misadventures of an undercover Seattle police officer who says he got roughed up by a group of protesters a week and a half ago. Turns out that wearing an earpiece microphone is a bit of a dead giveaway that you might be the po-po.

The incident happened on Friday, Feb. 18, the same day that the same group of black-garbed goons spit on our news photographer and tried to take his camera.
In the officer's case, things were a little more intense:
The officer was in plainclothes during a February 18th march in downtown Seattle. A police report says there were about 200 people at the event, "the majority of whom were dressed from head to toe in all black clothing with faces covered and identifying themselves as Anarchists."The protesters apparently noticed the undercover officer in the crowd--he was wearing a radio earpiece, the report says--and attacked him.
The protesters pulled out the officer's radio earpiece, and hit him in the back of the head with a wooden dowel.
Look, the violent anarchists who spray-paint shit, spit on people, and smash ordinary folks' cars are incorrigible douchebags. This we've established. But showing up to an anti-police rally as an undercover cop but leaving your earpiece-radio-mabob in while doing it is the essence of a bonehead move.
We're glad everyone's all right, but things could have turned out way worse.
