Comment of the Day: 'Please Tax My Income!'

Happy Friday, everyone! Today's Comment of the Day winner found an old post and spruced it up with a new, Warren Buffett-style idea.

The article was from the great Rick Anderson, posted back in October last year, in which he lamented that Gov. Gregoire and the rest of the state Legislature are incapable of cutting tax breaks for the richest Washingtonians.

With the current Occupy movement sweeping the nation, wealth distribution is certainly a relevant topic and one reader begs the state to tax her.

Jeanne Large writes:

Once again, we balance the state budget by eliminating public programs and cutting public employees' salaries. Because of our tax structure, this is a great state in which to have a big income (no income tax). It's not a great place to have a lower income (sales tax) or a small business (B&O tax) We all need to come together to support important public programs like education, healthcare and infrastructure. I have not been asked to contribute one dime toward balancing the state budget. Because I'm not a big spender, I never pay my fair share of taxes in this state. Please tax my income! Thank you.
