On Tuesday Seattle Weekly's Keegan Hamilton posted to Daily Weekly about Paul George Cartier, a Canadian man who occasionally calls himself "666" and has been charged with sending a series of death threats to federal prosecutors in Seattle on the eve of Marc "The Prince of Pot" Emery's extradition to the U.S. to face drug charges.

Comment of the Day: This Isn't Some Eye-Opening Study

TrafficMug.jpg
On Monday I posted to Daily Weekly about a study recently conducted by researcher Bruce Appleyard, which determined that kids who are driven everywhere struggle to draw maps of their neighborhoods and describe how their communities are connected, while also expressing more dislike or feelings of danger about where they live.

Comment of the Day: Army is Sending a Message Rather than Practicing Justice

On Friday Seattle Weekly's Rick Anderson posted to Daily Weekly about the announcement out of Joint Base Lewis McChord that Sgt. Rex Velvet
On Friday Seattle Weekly's Keegan Hamilton posted to Daily Weekly about the ongoing feud between real-life superhero Phoenix Jones and real-life supervillain Rex Velvet. Not surprisingly, the post instantly blew up traffic to our site, because, well, you know ... that's what happens whenever you post something about Phoenix Jones and/or Rex Velvet these days.

Comment of the Day: Man Bitten by Rattlesnake at Wal-Mart Was Asking for It

Rattlesnakemug.jpg
Earlier this week I published two posts about Mica Craig, the man infamously bitten by a rattlesnake at a Wal-Mart in Eastern Washington. Given the subject matter, it's no surprise that the posts have been two of this week's most popular on Daily Weekly.

Yesterday Seattle Weekly's Nina Shapiro delved into the U.S. Department of Justice's proposed consent decree with the City of Seattle over police reforms, and specifically the idea of a "shadow mayor," something Mayor Mike McGinn has questioned the wisdom of.

Comment of the Day: Break Out the Candles and Herbal Tea

Continuing on a theme struck with last week's cover story, Seattle Weekly's Nina Shapiro posted to Daily Weekly yesterday about the Foreclosure Fairness Act, a bill passed last year by the legislature requiring lenders on the verge of foreclosing to participate in mediation with homeowners - with the intent being to help homeowners stay in their homes. So far, however, it hasn't really worked out that way.

Comment of the Day: Liberal Bias Strikes Again

schoolbus77.jpg
Last week we published what was intended to be a humorous reaction piece to the now-dead Seattle School District proposal to save money by altering school start times and school-bus pickup times - an idea that could have led to school children being forced to catch the bus at completely ungodly hours, and parents being forced to deal with the schedule difficulties that would have presented.

Comment of the Day: Desperately Seeking an Impartial Blurb Outlining the Facts

We had quite a week last week with Seattle Assistant Police Chief Mike Sanford. There was that whole investigation into possible criminal misconduct. Then later that day there were the results of that investigation, which cleared Sanford. Which we delved into the next morning. Then, we launched our own very fake investigation of Sanford. And finally we did a real (albeit very sarcastic) post about the shocking book Mike Sanford wanted desperately to see on the sergeant's exam.

Yesterday's Seattle Weekly's Nina Shapiro posted to Daily Weekly about her cover story in print this week, "Tales From the Bust." The post discusses homeowners frustrated by the fact they owe far more to the bank than their homes are now worth who decide to simply stop paying their mortgage.
