Back in the '90s, not even the biggest fans of Modest Mouse could've predicted that their precious band would one day have a chart-topping record. Well guess what? They did.

According to Billboard.com, Modest Mouse's latest, We Were Dead Before The Ship Sank moved a solid 129,000 units and debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. Despite the year's dismal record sales, 2007 is already shaping up to be a really great and profitable year for indie acts - as The Shins and Arcade Fire have already proved.
