Bumbershoot Announces First String of Musical Performers

Late last night, the fine folks at Bumbershoot "couldn't resist" and announced the first batch of performers slated to play the 2007 Bumbershoot Festival, which takes over Seattle Center on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 1-3. Now to the list (so far), broken down by category:

Crowd favorites - The Shins, Wu-Tang Clan, and Panic! At the Disco

Triumphant return - Crowded House

Totally right on, maaaaaaan - Devendra Banhart, Roky Erickson & the Explosives

Country-fried potatoes - Steve Earle, Allison Moorer, The Gourds, Avett Brothers, Magnolia Electric Co.

Hot Topic 101 - Kill Hannah, Plain White T's, Norma Jean

Tears of gypsy (for good luck) - Gogol Bordello, DeVotchKa

Beats, rhymes, and backpacks - Lupe Fiasco, Lyrics Born

Beats me - The Holmes Brothers, The Aggrolites, Yungchen Lhamo
