Folk Yeah!

Fresh (though maybe not smelling so after many hours in a van) from a mini West coast tour, Whalebones rolled back into town with just enough time to get their gear set up for last night's Comet show- possibly one of the best places to come home to.  Just grimey enough so you don't feel out of place having not showered in awhile and plenty of whiskey to ease you back into it.  Their last show was in Big Sur, CA at the Fernwood Resort- a little festival called Folk Yeah  They said it was mindblowing- and how could it not be in a setting like that?

According to last night's openers, San Francisco's The Dodos (a sweet drum and guitar folk rock duo with a much bigger sound than expected with just two dudes) the festival happens four times a year- once a season, and always turns into a late night all out jam session between all of the night's performers.  Sounds like some real down-home hippie rock 'n roll style shit.  The next one should be sometime in late June, and it sounds like it might be worth a trip out.  I mean down.
