Mmmmmmm Drop!

Welcome to the first edition of Mmmmmmm Drop, a look at a few new releases from Tuesday's weekly yield.

Fresh on the street this week, are works from Boot Camp Klik, Elvis, Dave Matthews and his old friend Tim Reynolds and countless others, but here are a few we've chosen to include a few extras with:

Locals!

The Blakes self-titled ep, their first on LITA. These dudes are like The Strokes on a heavy Stones diet and this 5-song effort is an addictive intro to their NYC style rock that seems a bit out of place on the Pacific side. Pitchfork had this to say about their performance at this year's Sasquatch.

Next Seattle show: (Surprise!) the KEXP BBQ on August 18th.

Nazca Lines, Cremation/Cruises: It's tough to tell if this self-released effort actually came out today, but their record release show went down on the 10th, and it's available at all Easy Street and Sonic Boom locations now. MySpace offers four tracks of noise-core punk infused rock with shades of Rage and Drive Like Jehu. Fun fact: Their number one friend on MySpace is Rocky Votolato.

Next Seattle show: August 28 at the High Dive.

National!

Eisley, Combinations: The most recent MySpace blog entry entitled "Eisley Girls. Rumors, Fact, Fiction", presumably posted by a member won't tell you much about their new record, but it should at least provide some insight into the rumors, fact and fiction of Eisley girls, as well as their spelling techniques. Here is the intro, below:

Eisley Girls. Rumors, Fact, Fiction
Current mood: anxious
Category: Blogging

Hey to anyone bored enough to read this.: i just think weird rumors are unhealthy for human beans. Rumors mess with that glop of H20 that wobbles atop my neck stem. i don't like falsifications...and conspiracies and slanderous hateration and bloo-blee, bleah-blahhKK!... So, i composed just a few factoids. . .

Next Seattle show: They just rolled through town in July (at the Croc) so no new dates here are listed, though they play Portland on Sept 21.

Next week! Look for new works from Minus the Bear, The New Pornogrphers, Akimbo, Kinsky, Jason Anderson, Various Artists (17 Songs of Praise and Worship is a must have!) and more.
