• I\'m one of Tom Phalen\'s oldest friends in the Seattle area. I was playing a gig in Yakima about 800 b.c. when Tom came walking into the club with a guitar slung over his shoulder asking if he could play some of his tunes during our break. The skinny little guy from L.A. had some good tunes. So I told him he needed to come to Seattle if he was going to have any chance of making a living at music. The rest of the story will be told at his Memorial on Saturday, September 22nd. 11:00 am O.O.Denny Park 12032 Holmes Point Rd. Kirkland On the shores of Lake Washington. • the weekly isn\'t happy about what I posted. sorry. it\'s my opinion, everyone is entitled to one and if you\'re gonna give an open fourm the people might say things you don\'t like. I apologize to anyone at the weekly that is offened by my anger. I am upset and maybe I shouldn\'t have said anything.

Furthermore, nobody promised we\'d write anything about Tom. But we did, right here, and were the first to do so and extend our condolences. The Weekly couldn\'t bother to write a piece about Tom (after they said they would) so they link you to his email address. What dead guy do you know that reads his email? • i am stunned by this very sad news. tom was always an absolute pleasure to work with and he did an awful lot for the local music community. his enthusiasm and kind heart always showed in his writing. i\'m so very sorry to learn of his passing.
