PHOTOS: High on Fire/Mono

If you like metal even the slightest bit, you gotta love Oakland trio High on Fire, fronted by perpetually shirtless guitar god Matt Pike -- they're the realest deal out there, playing no-bullshit heavy rock that pummels in the tradition of Motorhead, Venom, Sabbath, Celtic Frost, and (early) Metallica. They're coming to the Crocodile Cafe on October 25th; below are some photos I shot of HoF last night at the Theatre of Living Arts here in Philly.  Opening was the always phenomenal Japanese instrumental shoegaze/space-rock quartet Mono, who put on a tremendous show earlier this year at Neumo's.
