Tunng: FREE SHOW! Tonight at Nectar 5 p.m. Travis Ritter says: "Tunng, the British junk-folk duo of Sam Genders and Mike Lindsay, are a pleasant hybrid of Simon and Garfunkel fronting the Books and the Beta Band, where gentle pop melodies are woven into a smattering of odd/quaint instruments, recorded tape loops, and subtle electronics."

Sunn 0))) heat your whole body up with droney madness tonight at Neumo's with Jesu and Eluvium. 8 p.m., $13. Brian Barr says: "Through bleeding feedback drones, corpse wails by vocalists Malefic and Wrest, and lyrics like “the fate of the Earth/ Will be to know black silence,” Sunn O))) crafted a bleak mood piece on par with Cormac McCarthy’s The Road."

Siberian celebrate their CD release at the Croc along with one of the first chances to see Ships (with Jacob Hoffman and Nate Mooter of the Lashes) and also the elephantita-band Kay Kay and his Weathered Undergound. 9 p.m., $8.

Barsuk's happy-go-poppy Aqueduct play the Croc with Georgie James and Sea Navy. 9 p.m. $10.

UK's 1990s make it to Seattle's High Dive at 7 p.m. tonight and this is what Ma'Chell Duma LaVassar had to say about 'em (in it's entirety because it's just too ridiculous):
“Hi, Franz Ferdinand? It’s the Clash. Yeah, baby, how you doin’? That’s good, that’s good. Well, baby, let’s get down to the point. I’ve been feelin’ you, and I know you’ve been feelin’ me, so how ’bout tonight we get together. First, I’ll take you out for a sumptuous meal and plentiful libations, then I’m gonna lay you down by the fire and make sweet, sweet love to you all night long. That’s right, there will be a little feedback, and I’m goin’ rub that feedback alllllllllllll over, then I’ll throw in a sweet solo. Recognize it? It’s a lil’ somethin’ I borrowed from the Strokes. Not implyin’ you’ve been around, baby, that ain’t the case. You’re fresh baby, so fresh. . . . ” Nine months later, 1990s’ insatiably catchy single “You’re Suppose to Be My Friend” is born. It goes on to sell beer, cars, and iPods for the next century. The Pharmacy open.

The Hold Steady take the stage on the UW campus at the HUB Auditorium with talky singer Art Brut and the Blood Arm. 7 p.m. $22 adv./$25.

And oh boy, Ghostface and Rakim come to the Showbox with Brother Ali and the Rhythm Roots All Stars. Read more about Ghostface being a big baby about his release date in this week's feature.
