Runaways Biopic Gets the Green Light

In the department of hard rockin' proto-riot grrl bands from the mid-to-late '70s (an admittedly small department), I've always been a much, much bigger fan of Girlschool than the Runaways, but I still think it's pretty cool news that they are making a movie about Joan Jett and company. Now what I'm really waiting for is the casting news. Lita Ford shouldn't be too hard to peg, but Cherie Currie and Joan Jett? Them's big boots to fill.

the article also mentions that the movie will be written and directed by floria sigismondi, which will by default make it the scariest biopic ever produced.
