Calamari Union Screening Tomorrow Night

What: Screening: Calamari Union
When: 8 p.m., Wednesday
Where: Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave.
Cost: $9 for non-members via Brown Paper Tickets

Apparently the opportunity to act alongside Soundgarden's Ben Shephard and take direction from Richard Lefebvre was too much to resist for at least one local music columnist. Our own Hannah Levin, who wrote about Lefebvre's re-make of Calamai Union using members of the local rock establishment (see above + kids from Mudhoney, Kwab Copeland, etc.) and local hoods (it's a treacherous walk from Georgetown to Ballard) in her Rocket Queen column a few months back, was enlisted to appear in the film. She helped coordinate the soundtrack as well, which she says includes a cut from the Blind Shakes.
