Although an official opening date hasn't been set, it's starting to look like Seattle's beloved music venue, the Crocodile, is gearing to reopen on March 20. While the Crocodile's website is still down, Portland-based music site, Monqui Presents, posted a new batch shows that are booked for the Croc earlier today.
But there's still reason to be skeptical. The first show booked, according to the site, is Hot Buttered Rum, a San Francisco-based bluegrass band along with the Everyone Orchestra on Friday, March 20. Hot Buttered Rum's website and MySpace both have a Crocodile date confirmed (yes!), but it's for Saturday, March 21. Both of these bands are already booked on March 20th in Portland, so the mystery remains.
Could it be that Monqui just got the dates wrong and the Croc actually opens on a Saturday night instead of a Friday? It's entirely possible, and trust, we will get to the bottom of this asap. As readers already know, the Weekly, is constantly tracking the Croc's progress so stay tuned for more info.
As of now, here's the rest of the shows that appear to be booked:
