The Crocodile Appears to be Reopening March 20 or 21

Although an official opening date hasn't been set, it's starting to look like Seattle's beloved music venue, the Crocodile, is gearing to reopen on March 20. While the Crocodile's website is still down, Portland-based music site, Monqui Presents, posted a new batch shows that are booked for the Croc earlier today.

But there's still reason to be skeptical. The first show booked, according to the site, is Hot Buttered Rum, a San Francisco-based bluegrass band along with the Everyone Orchestra on Friday, March 20. Hot Buttered Rum's website and MySpace both have a Crocodile date confirmed (yes!), but it's for Saturday, March 21. Both of these bands are already booked on March 20th in Portland, so the mystery remains.

Could it be that Monqui just got the dates wrong and the Croc actually opens on a Saturday night instead of a Friday? It's entirely possible, and trust, we will get to the bottom of this asap. As readers already know, the Weekly, is constantly tracking the Croc's progress so stay tuned for more info.

As of now, here's the rest of the shows that appear to be booked:
Portland's latest literary indie mavens
The Builders & the Butchers on March 27

Seattle's finest dance provocateurs
U.S.E. on March 28

From Death From Above 1979
Sebastian Grangier on April 2

The Blues / Garage / Punk sound of
Heartless Bastards on April 11

Britians Hottest Import
The Ting Tings on April 12

Sweet Indie Pop & Local Songsmiths
Dr. Dog & The Cave Singers on April 14

Folk rock revivalists
Vetiver and Richard Swift on April 18

Japantronica Godfathers first tour in 4 years
Ghost on May 1

& The throwback style of
The Devil Makes Three on May 28

I'd be stunned if they chose to open in the middle of SXSW week (Mar 18-20)....

Newbie here, I wanted to advise you of the malwarebyte that is going around the net. This might be a bit off topic but hopefully it will help folks get that crapy spyware off their PC. Thanks, Newbie
