Bobby Bare Jr. and Daughter Isabella Cover Shel Silverstein

Bobby Bare Jr. and his Bella Bare

I had a nice little chat with Bobby Bare Jr. this morning, who is heading our way on March 28th for a show at the Sunset.

As per usual, BBJ has lots of irons in fire, with his pet project being a multi-faceted tribute to his songwriting mentor, Shel Silverstein. Along with a concert in Chicago's gorgeous Millennium Park this summer, BBJ plans to release an album of covers honoring Silverstein that will include an amazing array of artists, including My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses, Emmlou Harris, Dr. Dog, the Black Keys and Andrew Bird. Bobby passed along this MP3 of he and daughter Isabella covering the song "Daddy, What If", a duet that Bare Jr. did with own father when he was just 5 years old. Warning: this is so adorable, your head may explode (in a good way). The MP3 is below and the video of BBJ with his dad is after the jump.
