Cave Singers Song Featured in Washington Lottery Commercial

WALottery.jpg
It's good to know the Washington State Lottery is using locally-made music in its new advertising campaign. As a follow-up to the terribly heartwarming commercial where chickens and ostriches get to fly, the lottery has created another ad about people with newly-won riches doing good things for animals. This time around, a man builds a frisbee-throwing machine for his dog.

But that's not the only change: For this new video, the Lottery chose a song written by state residents. (The song in the bird commerical is by a Los Angeles musician.) Seattle's own The Cave Singers soundtracks the dog ad. (The song is "Seeds of Night" off 2007's Invitation Songs).

Here's the video:

The commercial was on heavy rotation Sunday. Between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., it played three times by my count.

The Cave Singers aren't the only Seattle band to have their songs featured on TV. Throw Me the Statue's "Lolita" has soundtracked two different commericals.

Videos after the jump.

"Lolita" was first used in a commercial for Rhapsody.

Recently, the song appeared in a Marriott commercial, but only instrumentally. Scott Reitherman's vocals are absent:
