Big news in Ballard, indeed: A new partnership has been formed to take over management of Hattie's Hat this July.

While current owners Dan Cowan (who also owns the Tractor Tavern), Kyla Fairchild (owner of No Depression), and her husband Ron Wilkowski will maintain an interest in the new partnership, majority onwership and management responsibilities will be under the direction of current Hattie's Manager Erin West, local musician Jeff Taylor (currently playing with the Huge Spacebird and YokoKnievel) and Max Genereaux, owner of Al's Tavern and the Sunset. Changes to look forward to will be the departure of the dining room fish tank and the return of Hattie's Hoot live music nights. In addition to live music, we expect to see a wide range of djs, dance nights, a piano bar and private parties in a soon-to-be-retooled back dining room. A 'New Management' party will be sometime in early July.
