Sub Pop Signs the Dum Dum Girls

dumdumgirls0.jpg
New Sub Pop signees The Dum Dum Girls sound like a modern, lo-fi girl group — think Saturday Looks Good to Me — who sing charming, fuzzy songs about going to the county jail. And contrary to what its name implies, the band is actually just one woman named Dee Dee. You can listen to some songs on the band's MySpace (my personal favorite is "Jail La La") and read the label's announcement on the Sub Pop blog, which says the Dum Dum Girls' first full-length album will be out sometime in the first half of 2010.
