Ragin' Asian: Lingerie Bartending and Dry Humping at Fusion
A UW student recently informed me that Fusion Ultra Lounge is crammed with people on Sunday nights. I was dubious, given that the 18 and over dance club is located across the street from a fucking Petco in the U District and is next to the notorious dive Blue Moon. But he was right.
The scene at Fusion is similar to that in terribly forgettable but entertaining dance flicks like Honey, Step Up, and You Got Served. The floor is occupied by promoters engaged in dance-offs and under-21 patrons dry humping the hell out of each other.
Drinkers are quarantined to the far corner where they are served by bartenders wearing lacy baby dolls and push-up bras. They'd be raking in tips, if it weren't for the fact that a majority of the clientele can't drink. (For those who can, the special is $6 for whatever you want before 11 p.m.)
Since its inception two years ago, Fusion has become especially popular with folks living in the far south and north ends of the city. Hence, it draws a more diverse and blue collar crowd than say, Belltown Billiards.
A sense of eagerness permeates the dance floor. The fervor with which patrons grind their asses against one another indicates they're getting their first taste of nightlife here. It isn't anything fancy, but it sure as hell beats hanging out at the Boys & Girls club or in somebody's basement.

Yawn. Yet another boring and pointless extended twitter from Ms. Hobart.
Anyway, the Stranger already did a more entertaining and self-aware follow up to Ragin' Asians here:

But we're still waiting for Ragin' Blacks, Ragin' Jews, Ragin' Latinos, Ragin' Muslims, etc.
What's the matter, afraid of being called out as racists again? But there's nothing like stirring up a little race hatred to increase the exposure of your increasingly irrelevent publication, isn't that right Erika Hobart and Mark Fefer?
