Bumbershoot Review: Vivian Girls Wrap the Crowd Around Their Pretty Fingers

Watch a slideshow of Sunday at Bumbershoot, featuring Vivian Girls, Common Market, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Who: Vivian Girls
Where: Broad Street Stage
When: Sunday, Sept. 6, 6:00 p.m.

Brooklyn's much talked about all-girl garage band is easy on the eyes. (A blonde, a brunette, and a redhead--take your pick!) Better still, their D.I.Y. sound is easy on the ears. Taking note from their influences, the Wipers and the Shangri-Las, they utilized heavy distortion and infectious melodies on a batch of two-minute songs. And Vivian Girls effortlessly won over the small crowd with their scrappy yet lovely sound.
