Dave Grohl and Duff McKagan Jammed With Slash Last Night
How do I know that? Because Slash tweeted about it late last night/early this morning when he was finished. It's actually starting to get a little weird how people reveal certain things on Twitter guised as a personal thought, when really, it's most likely semi-calculated P.R. Slash actually announced that he was playing with those guys on September 20th when he tweeted: "Busy week coming up, getting a couple tracks ready to go to Japan + doing a track w/Duff & Dave Grohl, cool."![]()
There's nothing wrong with that. If he's got a Twitter account, he might as well tweet what he's doing. Then yesterday, Slash tweets out: "Doing a track for my record with Dave Grohl on drums & Duff on bass tonight, it promises to be killer." This morning when I woke up, I saw this missive that has certain rock blogs on fire: "Great jamming w/Duff & Grohl tonight, the track is a killer intrumental, very heavy." Now, Rolling Stone has even chimed in on "what it all means." It's all managing to be great advanced press for Slash's upcoming solo album and I'm glad he's finally making it happen. In theory, it's probably a good thing that the world can get access to this info. You just have to determine if getting hyped up over being surprised is worth it.
By the way, you can get your weekly fix of Duff McKagan every Mon and Thursday on Reverb.
