So You Missed Them at Bumbershoot...
Maybe you didn't want to stand in line. Or maybe the rain kept you away from Seattle Center this weekend. Or the ticket price was too high. Or maybe, as happened to this unlucky reporter, you stood in line for an hour to see comedian Patton Oswalt, but he ceded his show to David Cross and Eugene Mirman instead. (Or maybe his plane was late--who knows?)
Fortunately, Oswalt is returning to the Moore on Fri. Sept. 18 (8 p.m., $26.50), and I'm guessing the line will be shorter at such a comparatively large venue (win free tickets here!). And this time he'll presumably show up in person (though we'd have no objection if he brought along a few friends--particularly Cross).
Who else is returning to town, or showing new work, after their Bumbershoot appearances? A few more boldface names and shows after the jump...
Local photographer Chris Jordan, whose work was featured in the group show "Kerfuffle" at Bumbershoot, will have a huge solo show opening at Pacific Science Center on Oct. 3. "Running the Numbers" will have an environmental theme, as he documents our rising mountains of trash in his large-format photos.
The short sci-fi film Greenspoke, by local director local filmmaker Tom McIntire, will play again with other futurist and horror flicks at what's called the Maelstrom International Festival of Fantastic Films. It runs at SIFF Cinema over the weekend beginning Fri., Sept. 18.
The Cave Singers return for a show at Neumos on Oct. 17. Paige Richmond gave them a strong endorsement at Bumbershoot.

Doug Benson will be at a Bellevue comedy club on October 11th, unfortunately the same night as Black Elk at the Comet...
