The xx play Ballard's Sonic Boom at 3 p.m. on November 27. They play a proper show at Neumos in the evening.
Say what you will about the band, I like The xx for the same reason I like The National: They're comforting and soothing without being squishy. And the songwriting is of the highest caliber; familiar without being cliched. I guess what I'm saying is, I can't think of a better way to spend a certain Friday afternoon.
