Music in Movies on Mondays: L7 in Natural Born Killers

Nbkost.jpg
Oliver Stone has never been known for subtlety, and few of his movies exemplify that as melodramatically at 1994's bloody, pop-culture devouring opus, Natural Born Killers. Curated collaboratively with Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, the 27-track soundtrack is all over the map, from Patti Smith to Patsy Cline, plus plenty of Reznor's own music and random samples of more obscure artists, such as Seattle's own dearly departed Steven Jesse Bernstein. However, the most memorable song selection is probably L7's metal-tinged, riotous anthem, "Shit List", which accompanies Juliette Lewis' exceptionally animated beat-down of a lecherous redneck at a roadside diner. Classic clip is after the jump.
