THEESatisfaction's "Snow Motion" EP Is Unleashed Upon the Internet
Did you miss THEESatisfaction's set last month at REVERB? Bad move. The duo's performance at the New York Fashion Academy was a sensation, warming up the tepid fluorescent emptiness of the venue with their quirky, sultry space jams that made the Ballard crowd get down. The ladies then took off for a spell in New Jersey and New York, where, among other performances, they linked with local Capitol Hill party staples Champagne Champagne at a CMJ-affiliated feature, performing their minimalist anthem "Magnetic Blackness." The song, on regular rotation on KEXP, is catchy as shit and can be found on Champagne Champagne's Myspace.
The ladies landed back in Seattle last week and have two upcoming shows: opening for the dreamy Swedish Little Dragon next Tuesday, and performing in early December as part of Go! Machine, a two-night concert series at the Crocodile produced by Mad Rad affiliates, which seems to be akin to the Blue Scholars' The Program they produced for the last couple of Decembers at Neumos. After that show, they'll be journeying down to Atlanta for shows, and prepping their first full-length, Au Natural, to be released next year. In the interm, they're also planning to release a mixtape compilation of their eclectic underground musical palates.
But for now, THEESatisfaction has just put their EP Snow Motion up for digital purchase. The collection of songs are lo-fi and tripped-out with sparse and socially searing lyricism, and was inspired by the great snow-in of last year's Seattle winter while they were living in collective housing in the Central District.
