Yes! SoKo Returns From Her Musical Hiatus!

Look at that precious face!

France's SoKo (Stéphanie Sokolinski) makes absolutely enchanting music. Her voice is full of raw emotion, her lyrics are brutally honest. I fell in love the moment I heard the stunning song "I'll Kill Her," which features SoKo rambling for four-plus minutes about murdering the woman dating the man of her dreams.

Last year, the quirky artist recorded a full-length album here in Seattle. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. But out of the blue, she decided she wasn't quite ready to be a full-time musician. She took all her songs off her MySpace page, scrawled a melodramatic away message (SoKo is Dead), then disappeared. I was devastated.

Luckily, it seems that SoKo has resurrected. She's been tweeting non-stop about music. (She was at SWSW earlier this month). Her MySpace page currently features five new recordings. Let's hope they stay there.
