Happy Easter, Reverb Readers

Categories: Music Films

As a child of the '70s and the agnostic--if spiritually sympathetic--daughter of a music-loving minister, this is always my jam this time of year.

Interestingly enough, Jesus Christ Superstar covers are rather popular in some unusual circles. The Afghan Whigs do a killer cover of "The Temple" and Scratch Acid covered "Damned For All Time" at their reunion show at the Showbox a few years back. Peaches, however, was recently denied the right to do her own interpretation of the rock musical in a series of performances in Berlin last month. I'd say that's downright tragic, because there's pretty much no way that wouldn't have been anything less than spectacular.
